The Pointe (Grades 6 - 12)

The Pointe Student Ministry exists to come alongside families to point students to Jesus and see their lives changed by the power of the Gospel.

At The Pointe, we believe the Bible teaches that the home is God’s primary place for children to learn gospel truths, develop a biblical maturity, and gospel understanding. We believe God has gifted to parents the role of primary spiritual shepherd of their children.

Jonathan Edwards wrote concerning the home that, "Every Christian family ought to be as it were a little church consecrated to Christ, and wholly influenced and governed by His rule. And family education and order are some of the chief means of grace. If these fail, all other means are likely to prove ineffectual. If these are duly maintained, all the means of grace will be likely to prosper and be successful." We see this instructed in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

With that being said, we also believe the church is to assist in the encouragement, training, and discipleship of the home. The Pointe exists for this reason. We come alongside families and help point their students to Jesus through games, worship, and small groups. Small groups are the cornerstone of our time together. Split up by grade and gender and hosted by adult leaders, small groups is where life happens. Our hope is to create a safe environment where students feel comfortable to share stories, encourage one another and learn from each other the goodness of Jesus. Small groups are kinda awesome.

When We Meet:
We meet Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at South Creek Middle School's Grymnasium. Middle & High School students from the Orlando area gather together for friends, fun, and Jesus. The Pointe is a place where you can belong, play, sing, and learn about Jesus.

Every week we teach from the Bible on topics relevant to students and sometimes even go through books of the Bible together. Our hope is that The Pointe will expose you to who Jesus is and help you fall more and more in love with Him from the teaching of Word to small groups with your peers.
